Cookie Policy

Cookies, tracers, and similar technologies used in TenerifePulse.
This document is a translation. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Scope

Depending on how you access TenerifePulse — via website, PWA, or associated technical modules — the service may use different storage or measurement technologies.

Not all necessarily rely on "cookies" in the strict browser sense. Some take the form of local storage, application cache, technical identifiers, session tokens, or offline functionality mechanisms.

2. Purposes of Technologies Used

These technologies may be used for:

  • Ensuring proper service technical functionality
  • Remembering certain user preferences
  • Maintaining a session
  • Enabling offline functions or caching
  • Measuring service usage and performance
  • Securing access and preventing certain abuses
  • Improving ergonomics and service quality
3. Categories of Technologies Used
3.1 Strictly Necessary Technologies

These are necessary for service functionality and cannot be disabled when indispensable. They serve to:

  • Maintain connection or session
  • Preserve essential preferences
  • Manage offline functionality or technical cache
  • Secure exchanges and limit abuse
3.2 Local Storage and Preferences

TenerifePulse uses local storage mechanisms to record certain preferences, personalization elements, favorites, or agenda data. Elements used:

  • tenerifepulse_profile — traveler profile (preferences, trip type)
  • tp_user_pos — GPS position (15 min cache)
  • tp_favorites — personal favorites
  • tenerifepulse_session — anonymous session identifier (24h, AI Guide rate limiting)

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to third parties unless cloud synchronization is part of the feature.

3.3 Analytics and Performance

TenerifePulse uses in-house audience measurement, built and hosted by us: no third-party analytics tool is used, and no measurement data is sent to an analytics provider.

This measurement relies on a random technical identifier stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage), not on an advertising cookie. The information recorded is: pages viewed and their timestamps, display language, the country and region inferred from your IP address, and the access type (website or app). Your IP address is never retained, and no precise location data is associated with these measurements.

This data is stored in our database hosted in the European Union (Ireland) for a maximum of 12 months, then automatically deleted. It is used solely to understand and improve the service. It is not used for advertising profiling, is never cross-referenced with other websites, and is never sold.

3.4 No Targeted Advertising

TenerifePulse does not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising tracking tools. Should this change, this policy will be updated and appropriate consent mechanisms will be implemented.

4. Tools Potentially Used

Depending on the version in production, TenerifePulse may use:

  • Browser local storage (localStorage / sessionStorage)
  • Supabase session mechanisms
  • PWA cache (service worker)
  • In-house audience measurement — technical identifier in local storage, data hosted in the EU, no third-party tool
  • Technical services necessary for authentication, payments (Stripe), or service security
5. Consent

Technologies strictly necessary for service functionality do not require consent. Audience measurement is carried out in-house, for the sole purpose of measuring use of the service: it does not allow any tracking of your browsing on other websites, involves no cross-referencing with third-party data or with your account data, and relies on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the service. You may object at any time by writing to us, or by clearing your browser's site data.

Should other consent-requiring tracers be activated, you would be informed and a consent collection mechanism would be implemented. You can withdraw consent anytime via provided tools or browser settings.

6. Retention Periods
  • Strictly Necessary Technologies — during session or as strictly necessary for functionality
  • Local Preferences — until manual deletion, logout, or service reset
  • AI Guide Anonymous Session — 24h (sliding window)
  • GPS Cache — 15 minutes
  • Analytics Measurements — per configured duration, max 13 months
7. Configuration

Depending on the technology involved, you can:

  • Modify browser settings to block or delete cookies
  • Clear local storage from your device (via browser developer tools)
  • Withdraw certain permissions (GPS) in your device settings
  • Reset or uninstall the application

Refusing certain technologies may, however, impair access to certain features (personalization, AI Guide, geo-localized weather).
