An entire ravine transformed into a jungle. Jungle Park (formerly Las Águilas del Teide) is the third most visited park in Tenerife, after Loro Parque and Siam Park — but it's the only one locals recommend without reservation. Fewer crowds, more greenery, and a birds of prey flight show in a natural amphitheater that's worth the trip on its own. Eagles, falcons, and vultures pass just centimeters above your head. Kids talk about it for weeks.
The birds of prey show (45 min, 2-3 sessions/day) is the star: golden eagles, peregrine falcons, Harris hawks, and an Andean condor with a 3-meter wingspan that skims past the bleachers. The amphitheater is open-air in the ravine — the birds fly in their natural habitat, not in a cage. The sea lion show (30 min) is more traditional but kids love it. There's also an exotic bird show with macaws and cockatoos doing acrobatics — kitsch but impressive. Check the schedule at the entrance: time slots change by season.
The park spans 75,000 m² in a natural barranco. You descend via walkways and shaded paths through dense tropical vegetation — banana trees, palm trees, tree ferns. Along the way: jaguars, snow leopards, Nile crocodiles, Humboldt penguins (with a refrigerated beach), meerkats, lemurs, and a nursery where caretakers feed baby animals in front of visitors. The bat tunnel is the most underrated attraction — 200 Egyptian fruit bats flying free in a dark tunnel. Thrills guaranteed.
