Fiesta del Cacharro y la Castaña
Canarian folklore: local music, dances and traditions.
On the eve of St Andrew's day, at nightfall, Puerto de la Cruz "runs the cacharros": children and adults drag pots and old utensils tied with wire through the streets, making a cheerful racket, all the way to Plaza del Charco. The festivity ends with roasted chestnuts, sweet potato and new wine. In 2026, 29 November falls on a Sunday. The 2026 programme (exact time) has not yet been published: we will add it as soon as it is out.
