A wild beach of fine black sand at the foot of Montaña Pelada, a volcanic cone formed by an underwater eruption and protected as a natural monument, near El Médano. The wet sand acts like a mirror, which photographers love, especially at sunrise. Large rocks line the water. No facilities on site: no toilets, showers or kiosk. People come for the peace and the raw landscape; the wind often blows hard here and lifts the sand. Naturists and swimmers in swimsuits share the beach easily, the naturists mostly in the part cut off by the rocks.
