Playa de Puntagorda

At the spot known as Puntagorda, on the Punta Larga seafront south of Candelaria: a long, narrow beach of pebbles, gravel and black sand. A breakwater shelters part of the water, but the sea here stays livelier than in the neighbouring La Arenita cove, with a noticeable current when there's an easterly swell. Wooden solarium platforms, a walkway and ramp access, a sports area, a beach volleyball court and a playground run along the promenade. A local beach, used by residents of Candelaria and Las Caletillas.
