Three small coves developed just north of Candelaria, connected by a seafront promenade lined with bars and restaurants overlooking the water. The pools are protected by breakwaters that break up the swell, making it one of the few safe swimming spots in any weather on this east coast, which is more exposed than the south of the island. Less spectacular than the large volcanic beaches of the north or the golden expanses of the south, it focuses on convenience: wooden platforms set up as sunbathing areas, free parking just behind, and a clientele composed almost exclusively of local residents who come to spend an hour after work rather than plan a full day there.
