Playa de los Guíos

Playa de Los Gigantes is defined by the sheer cliffs that tower above it. It spans only a few dozen meters, covered in black volcanic sand, but what gives it its unique character are these cliffs: the Acantilados de Los Gigantes rise more than 600 meters above the water, forming an impressive vertical basalt wall. The beach is nestled and protected, with relatively calm waters. Services are adequate: showers, restaurants on the port, and access to whale and dolphin excursions departing from the nearby port. Swimming is possible but the lack of sand and the permanent shade from the cliffs in the afternoon make it less appealing for a full day. Bus 325 from Santiago del Teide. Absolutely worth seeing, if only for photography.
