Playa de Bollullo

Bollullo is the kind of beach you deserve. From the parking area up on the heights, you need to walk down for twenty minutes on a steep path through banana plantations to reach this cove of black volcanic sand nestled between two cliffs. No lifeguard, no shops, no umbrella rentals, just the sound of waves and a few regulars who jealously guard its secret. The sea here is powerful, with regular waves that delight bodyboarders. Swimming is possible but requires caution: frequent lateral currents. A small beach bar serves drinks and a few snacks, that's all you need. Bring water and sunscreen, the walk back is in the sun. Ideal on weekdays for near-guaranteed solitude, avoid it in July-August when the path gets crowded.
