Los Abrigos is the answer from south coast regulars to "Where do locals really go?" Nestled in a black sand cove, just a few kilometers from the Costa Adeje and Las Américas resorts, this fishing village has preserved its soul. The beach? Modest: just a few dozen meters of volcanic sand, an authentic setting, no loungers or umbrellas. The real appeal is the waterfront and its succession of fresh fish restaurants. Grilled sea bream, lobster, squid: residents from Granadilla and El Médano come down here specially on Sundays to lunch. Village atmosphere, without commercial pressure. Access by car (TF-1, Los Abrigos exit) or bus 483 from Los Cristianos. Book ahead in summer.

The beach itself is modest: people mainly come for the excellent fresh fish restaurants at the port, just a few minutes' walk away. Locals swim in the harbour (Muelle de Los Abrigos), sheltered from the swell. Nearby: La Cueva de Los Abrigos (20 m away), then the port restaurants. El Médano is about a fifteen-minute drive away.
