Playa Jardín

Playa Jardín is not a single beach but a complex of three black volcanic sand beaches designed by artist César Manrique in the 1990s: Playa del Castillo, Playa Chica (also called Playa del Charcón) and Playa de Punta Brava. The three coves are connected by a 1.5 km pedestrian promenade lined with tropical gardens, waterfalls and volcanic stone walls, a rare example of successful integration between architecture, art and coastline. Each section has its own character: Playa del Castillo on the town centre side, Playa Chica/Charcón in the middle and generally the most sheltered, Playa de Punta Brava to the west with clear views of Teide. Each cove has showers, changing rooms and bins, with lifeguard supervision year-round. Direct access from Puerto de la Cruz town centre on foot (5 min) or buses 101/102. Water can be rough depending on weather conditions, check the flag colour before entering.
