At 290m altitude, between Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz, Santa Úrsula looks out over the Orotava valley and Teide from its terraced vineyards. It's a village drivers pass through on the north highway without noticing, even though it hides one of the best viewpoints on the north coast and a discreet but very much alive winemaking tradition.
The trick: Mirador de Chipeque is not in the village. It sits high in the municipality on the TF-24 toward Teide, around 1,800 m, often above a sea of clouds. You need a car and the mountain road — not a stroll from the casco.
Across 22.6 km², Santa Úrsula preserves protected areas like Las Palomas and vineyards that are part of northern Tenerife's winemaking tradition. Its 17th-century churches, including the San Luis hermitage, bear witness to an old religious heritage, away from the main tourist sites.
The municipality climbs from the TF-5 up to the ridge: high viewpoints, vineyards, and quieter corners than the big southern stops if you leave the centre for a bit.
Transport: TITSA bus lines 102 and 30 (TF-5 route). Center reachable on foot from the TF-5 stops.
